William Lovett Balfour was born March 25, 1802 in Edgecombe Co., NC. , later moved to Feliciana Parish, LA and then to Madison County, MS where he died May 8, 1857.
As per the will and codicil of William Lovett Balfour, filed in Madison County, MS in April 1857 (Cause #733), Slaves from this plantation and also Woodside Plantation in Yazoo County were to be used to start a plantation in Washington or Bolivar County using lands already owned by Balfour. That plantation would later be known as Fall Back.
