Miscellaneous Information

• Cathwood Plantation was created from Hammond's 7500 acre Silver Bluff Plantation property.

• Hammond named the plantation 'Cathwood' for his wife, Catherine FitzSimons Hammond.

• The location of the lands once known as Cathwood Plantation is between the towns of Beech Island and Jackson, South Carolina. 

• The area is now referred to as "Kathwood."
