Approximate location of the plantation house is thought to be about 150 feet northeast of existing frame house at 1121 Lower Elgin Road. Coats cemetery is about 300 feet south of this house and poorly marked slave cemetery, thought to contain remains of as many as 32 individuals, is in a wooded area about 250 feet west of the marked cemetery at the roadside. Current owners of frame house at 1121 Lower Elgin Rd. are interested in potential archaeological work on this property, which now includes only 42 acres of original plantation.
