Florida side of St. Marys River approximately three miles below or East of Kings Ferry, Florida

 

Date Constructed/ Founded

Edwin R. Alberti purchased 600 acres on Cabbage Swamp from the heirs of Zachariah Haddock, Jr., who died in 1825.  The steam sawmill was constructed in 1833 and store began operation in 1837.

Historical notes

In 1844, a post office was established under the name of Woodstock Mills and Alberti was the first postmaster. There was a church, schoolhouse, and store located on the plantation.

A slave jail was also located on this plantation which consisted of two rooms, each were about 9X12 feet
