Two Rivers Plantation belonged to David H. Mc Gavock.

The mansion (constructed in 1859) and some of the plantation land are now a city park in Nashville. The mansion is singificant as an early and well preserved example of the Itallianate style in middle TN. The name of this plantation (two rivers) comes from the fact that two Rivers meet at this plantation - the Cumberland River and the Stones River (which connects Murfreesboro, TN to Nashville by river). The plantation was in the fertile valley between the Cumberland and Stones River. President Andrew Jackson's The Hermitage Plantation was also nearby in this same valley.
