Historical notes

The Henry Jones plantation was located at the present site of the George Ranch Historical Park in Richmond, Texas.  Jones was on of Stephen F. Austin's Original 300 settlers and received his land grant in 1822.  The slaves on the Jones plantation are mentioned in the inventory of Jones's probate in the 1860s.
